Activities Heartland Senior Services offers a wide range of activities to fit all interests!	Adult Day Center Adult Day Center offers high quality, cost effective alternative care to a nursing home environment.	Nutrition Congregate and home-delivered meals for seniors are served in eight Story County Iowa communities
Outreach Through home visits and telephone contacts, Outreach provides a vital link between older adults and community resources	Transportation Door-to-door bus transportation service is offered anywhere within the county for persons in Story County.	Volunteers Heartland’s Volunteer Team utilizes over 700 volunteers annually who assist with senior programs county-wide.

Our Mission

Heartland Senior Services of Story County offers life-enriching
opportunities for older adults and provides support for their families and
caregivers. Services include: Home-delivered and Congregate Meals;
Outreach and Referrals; Transportation (HIRTA); Social, Wellness, and
Educational Activities; and Adult Day Center.

Our Vision

Heartland Senior Services’ new comprehensive facility with
satellite locations and programs is the statewide model for bringing
life-enhancing opportunities to all of Story County’s older adults.

By seeking new funding, research, and development paradigms,
we will be on the leading edge of new models for delivery of
services to seniors.

United Way of Story County

HSS is supported by private and public funds including: Aging Resources of Central Iowa, Heartland Senior Services Foundation, HIRTA, Story County and its cities, Story County Community Foundation, and United Way of Story County. HSS is an ASSET-funded agency.
