HOW YOU CAN HELP
You can partner with Heartland Senior Services
in supporting seniors of Story County.

Provide Financial Support --
Your financial contributions are needed to help continue programs and to help expand programs to reach a greater number of seniors.  These programs support and help maintain their desired quality of life.  Please see the December 2008 newsletter for additional information and testimonials regarding some of our services.  Please see About Us and the HSS Annual Report  for details regarding program accomplishments.

ProvideVolunteer Service --
Last year 941 Heartland Volunteers contributed over 23,000 service hours.  By sharing hobbies, skills and talents, you can also be part of the successful team of Heartland Volunteers.  There are opportunities in each of our major service areas:  Activities, Adult Day Center, Nutrition, Outreach, and Transportation.

Currently, home-delivered meals, Friendly Visitor, and transportation volunteers are most needed.  To inquire about these or other opportunities, please email Marilyn Johnson, HSS Volunteer Coordinator, or call her at 233-2906.

The Hands for Heartland brochure and the  Volunteers and Volunteer Spotlight pages of this website also provide information on how volunteers contribute to and are appreciated in Heartland's programs.

Help Promote, Publicize --
Presentations on a variety of  HSS services are available to community groups.  The presentations are designed to meet the needs of individual audiences and are presented by HSS personnel.  Just invite us.

In addition,  participants, families, or community members often provide great testimonials for our programs.  If you are interested in speaking or writing on behalf of seniors or Heartland, please contact HSS Executive Director John Middents at 515-233-2906.

Donate Needed Items --
Many items needed at Heartland are outside the operating budget.  Please see our Wish List.
